Defeat for Meghan Markle




Meghan Markle, the wife of British Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex, has suffered another major setback, having been defeated in the first round of a court battle against a British newspaper.

Meghan Markle will now have to pay a large sum of ہزار 67,888 in court costs as she admits defeat to the Associated Newspapers Limited, publisher of the British newspaper Mail on Sunday.

 It may be recalled that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had sued the newspaper group for publishing an article in February 2019. The British royal couple had claimed that the newspaper had published several such letters against their privacy and copyright. Do what the Duchess of Sussex sent to her angry father, Thomas Markle.

Meghan Markle agreed to pay the large sum because the newspaper said the court had rejected her case, with High Court Judge Justice Warby ruling in favor of the publisher and dismissing unnecessary allegations.

Meghan Markle's lawyer wanted her to argue that the newspaper had deliberately tried to stir up differences between the father and daughter in a fraudulent move.


However, Justice Warby refused to accept the claims, and the newspaper group demanded court costs from Meghan. After which, the court said in the released documents that in the letter received from both the parties, the claimant has agreed to pay the full amount of 67 67,888 in terms of expenses.

After paying the aforementioned amount in the lawsuit, if the Duchess of Sussex's own legal costs were included, their costs in this case would reach لاکھ 100,000. And when the case goes to full hearing next year, the costs could run into the millions of pounds.
