UN: Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has arrived in New York
to attend the UN General Assembly but is not allowed to travel to most of the
city's locations during his presence.
The Iranian president faces similar sanctions restrictions
imposed on Iranian mission staff in July.
Under sanctions Hassan Rouhani cannot go far beyond the UN
headquarters, located in the eastern part of Manhattan Island.
However, the US government has granted them special hotel
accommodations.
Hassan Rouhani will address the UN General Assembly on
Wednesday and hold a press conference.
The Iranian leader is restricted to First Avenue and East
42nd Street to the south and East 48th Street to the north.
Similar sanctions were also imposed in the past on US
unwanted world leaders, including former Cuban leader Fidel Castro.
It should be remembered that US President Donald Trump
announced trade and economic sanctions on Iran announcing the termination of
the nuclear deal with Iran, while other world sides of the deal announced
Britain, Germany, France, Russia and China to continue with Iran. What was
Tensions between the United States and Iran escalated last
week after drone strikes on Saudi Arabia's oil installations led to Aramco, the
world's largest oil-exporting company, halting production.
After the attack on Saudi oil installations, both the United
States and Saudi Arabia attributed Iran directly to it, but Iran described the
statements as an excuse for war and made it clear that Iran was ready for war.
So avoid any kind of aggression.
