According to private TV, former city nazim Tahir Asif Chaudhry and others were protesting against the robbery in Jalap area of Jalalpur Sharif police station. Police arrested him and took him away, but news of his death came two hours later.
His body was taken to BHQ Jalalpur Sharif where Dr Kaleemullah confirmed his death and said that he was brought to the hospital in a dead condition while police said that Tahir Asif Chaudhry died at the hospital.
On the other hand, the brother of the slain leader Shahid Asif Chaudhry has accused him of murder. He said that DSP and SHO Pind Dadan Khan, SHO Jalalpur Sharif, Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry and Faisal Farid were involved in the murder of Tahir Asif.
