A military plane has crashed in Ukraine, killing at least 22 people, officials say, without immediate effect. An investigation is under way.
A foreign news agency reports that a military plane crashed in the Kharkiv region of the Ukrainian city of Choguyev, killing 22 people and leaving two others in critical condition.
According to Ukrainian officials, the plane was carrying Air Force cadets, including cadets who were killed, while several cadets miraculously survived the crash.
The plane crashed during landing with 28 people on board, including Air Force University cadets. Immediately after the crash, the plane caught fire, which was extinguished during the rescue operation, but the bodies of several people were unidentified due to burns.
According to media reports, the plane was on a training flight when it crashed in northeastern Ukraine. A video of the burning plane and the evacuation of people has also come to light. The reasons could not be revealed.
